IVYBRIDGE police are hunting for a possible 'problem group' who could be behind the recent spate of graffiti attacks in the town.
Since March police have been investigating the increase of 'sporadic' graffiti around the town.
Police say they suspect a 'problem group' could be behind the criminal damage which has seen walls, the skate park and signs 'tagged' across tho town.
PC Martin Perry said: 'There has been another tag this week at Stowford School, it's difficult to conclude whether it's connected.
'We had a spate a while back which involved a graffiti artist who was arrested in Plymouth, but the writing this time isn't good which suggests a few idiots with spray paint.'
Last week police appealed for witnesses after the more graffiti appeared at the skate park in Leonards Road overnight between Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21.
At the beginning of May, graffiti appeared in the town stating 'catch me if you can' and 'Ivy's finest'.
A few days later move overnight graffiti was seen at Filham Park near to the Donkey Sanctuary, again with the 'Ivy's finest' tag .
PC Perry added: 'We are not sure if they are connected. I suspect it could be a problem group. It is annoying but it is difficult to detect this sporadic criminal damage.
'The writing, especially on the 'Ivybridge Finest' tags seem different – so it's likely to be more than one person.'
Police are asking for anyone who may know or are aware of anybody who may be doing this to call them on 101 quoting crime reference CR/031444/15 or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
