CHANGES to counselling services will ‘increase young people’s vulnerability’ according to the assistant principal of Ivybridge Community College.

Sam Ball has written to town, district and county councillors, local police and others to say the school is ‘extremely concerned...that the free counselling service for our young people in Ivybridge has ended’.

She has organised a meeting with as many agencies as possible, including local health services to discuss the problem, due to take place on Thursday.

The face-to-face counselling service provided by Ivybridge charity Young Devon came to an end in September, although the charity has moved to reassure those concerned that support is still available.
