RICHARD BAYLAY of Cabourg Close, Salcombe, writes:

I read in last week’s Gazette about the plight of Stephanie’s dog Frank, who suffered a fish hook in his tail.

I have a 10 month-old border terrier who encountered the same problem on Thurlestone beach, along with quite a few vacuum-packed packets of bait, totally irresistible to any dog.

We have also had ongoing problems with broken glass on Salcombe’s pavements and pathways.

Any form of rubbish, especially the two aforementioned, are a recipe for potential disaster for dogs, especially young ones.
