SALCOMBE Town Council welcome new councillor Lindy Sinnott by co-option this month.

Lindy was born and bred in Salcombe and still lives there with her husband and two children. She has worked at Salcombe Tourist Information Centre for 16 years, so has a good understanding of the town from the points of view of both locals and visitors.

Lindy is chairman of the Salcombe Players and is a big supporter of local regattas, fetes, fundraisers and various clubs and societies in the town.

Lindy said: ‘I feel fortunate to have been born and raised in Salcombe. Now I want to give something back.

‘There’s a good community here and I feel that a lot of people know who I am. As a newcomer to the council, I’ll be willing to learn and listen to people. This is a new adventure for me.’

Her main concerns are housing, employment and parking in the town.
