THE customary hordes of visitors to Thurlestone were joined by a particularly distinguished guest at the weekend.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, is reported to have visited the village to attend the wedding of Bear Maclaine to Daisy Dickson at All Saints Church.

It is believed his wife Kate was originally also due to attend, but could not make the trip.

Asked to confirm the royals’ attendance at the glamourous shindig, a Kensington Palace spokesman said they are unable to comment on the Duke and Duchess’s private engagements.
