Famous animated characters Wallace and Gromit have been brought to life at a South Hams primary school.
Pupils at Diptford Primary School, alongside a team from King Edward VI Community College in Totnes, began a project to build 'life-sized' models of the stop-motion animation characters.
The team, led by Kevicc art teacher Tim Wrightman, took two weeks to complete the project.
Pupils were split into two mixed-age groups. The first group started to build up the bodies with newspaper, masking tape and gum strip.
Year 5 pupils Sienna Harris and Grace Parnell said: 'Luckily it was a sunny day, so they didn't need to wait for it to dry.
'The Kevicc team had a clever idea, and to get all the parts we needed we used our bodies.
'For Wallace we used our feet, legs, arms, hands and chests, but for Gromit we used our legs, feet, chests, fists and flat hands for the ears.
'The next week the team came back in to help the second group put together, paint and collage Wallace and Gromit.
'After a whole load of struggling to put them together, we were finally able to paint and collage the finished statues.
'They were finally finished and stood proudly among the classrooms.
'After we took a step back and admired our work we took a class photo. Now they're standing looking fab in our hallway.'
