THE VILLAGE of Ugborough has raised about £2,000 for the village hall and St Peter’s church during their Fair Week, held at the beginning of the month.

Throughout the week, a whole of host activities and events were organised, such as a popular 1970s night, and local bands playing on a stage in the square - including Blank - made up of young musicians from Ivybridge Community College and the Longfaces - featuring some of the fathers of local preschool children.

Other highlights included Liam Walton, known as ‘wood boy’, on account of his beautifully handmade woodwork, the cream teas and cake stall, the sheaf tossing, the quiz night, bingo, the treasure hunt, the dog show and the homemade pizzas!

Shelley Hutcheon, one of the organisers said: ‘There are just too many people to mention, but we’d like to thank everyone who came and supported the event.

‘And a particular thanks to Kay Transport, who, once again provided us with a lorry to use for as a stage.’
