Wrangaton Golf Club

The ladies’ October stableford was won by Angie Newman with 36 points, bringing with it a cut to her handicap of one shot.

In second place was Wendy Roberts with 31 points.

On Sunday, October 2, the ladies arranged and played a mixed match against Dartmouth. Wrang­aton won the Match four games to two. Katie Purcell congratulated the winning pairs, and said that Wrang­aton looks forward to welcoming Dartmouth next year.

On Saturday, Octo­ber 8, the Jubilee Cup was played, having been re-arranged from earlier in the year.

The conditions were great and 60 players took part in the greensomes competition. The winners of the competition were Lee Mundell and Steve Banks with a fantastic score of 44 points.

Mike Daniels and Pete Bird finished in second place with 42 points.

Third place went to Ruth and Tony Bickle with 41 points. Phil Edward and Dave Rowe took fourth place on countback from Ian Black and Jon Axten, both pairs finishing with 39 points.

Club professional Stuart Barrett organised a pro shop roll up for the vets section on Tuesday, October 4. The winner was Neil Parker with an excellent score of 38 points.

Peter Bryant finished in second place, beating Des O’Connor on countback, both players scoring 36 points. Jeff Bailey took fourth with 33 points.

Rodney Doran was the division one winner of the vets monthly stableford, finishing with 36 points.

Neil Parker, Mike Daniels and Bill Purser all finished with 35 points but Neil Parker claimed second place with the better back nine score.

Steve Milnes was the winner of division two with 36 points. Robin Dav­ies took second place with 34 and Nick Hawk­ing finished third with 32.
