Wrangaton Golf Club

The men’s section played the Ashburton Shield and June stableford held on Sunday, June 12, with 64 players taking part.

Craig Birchall came out on top with a very good 44 points, taking home first place, followed in second by Martin Lawrence (38 points), beating Leigh Jarrett with a better back nine. Fourth was Gary Daw with 37 points.

There were five twos, by Micky Paisey, Simon Merryfield, Gary Park­er, Adam Stolworthy and Dave Rowe.

The vets section played the Bryan Johnson Memorial Trophy last Thursday.

A good turnout saw 39 vets play and one highlight was the hole-in-one on the fourth from Mike Daniels.

Roger Battershill took victory with 42 points, beating David Goodan on countback.
