POLICE are hunting burglars who stole possessions worth £12,000 in a raid on an Ivybridge home – while the family slept upstairs.

Investigators are asking the public to come forward with any information on the burglary, in Mallet Road in Ivybridge in the small hours of Saturday, May 14.

Between 3am and 4am the house was entered through a back door, the burglar possibly obtaining the keys through a cat flap. The family were asleep upstairs at the time and did not see the culprits.

Several items were found to be missing, including cash, a games console, a tablet computer, and jewellery to the value of £12,000.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anybody behaving suspiciously in Mallet Road between 3am and 4am on Saturday 14 May, or who has been offered either of the items shown.
