Armed police officers have arrested three people after raiding a house in Ivybridge.

Armed officers raided a property at St John’s Road, Ivybridge, at midday on Thursday, March 29, as part of a Merseyside Police job.

During the planned police operation a 34-year-old male from Liverpool was arrested for possession of a firearm, explosives and drugs supply, all offences having occurred in Liverpool.

A 33-year-old male from Ivybridge was arrested on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon in Ivybridge and assisting an offender.

A 38- year-old female from Ivybridge was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All three are held at a Devon Police Station.

Supt Drummond-Smith said: “I would like to thank the public for their patience while we had to close St Johns Road in Ivybridge and reassure them that Devon & Cornwall Police are working with other police forces to tackle serious and organised criminality, ensuring that Devon remains a difficult place for criminals to hide."
