For many people, writing, be it a memoir, poetry or fiction, is a dream. But where to start? South Hams Writers is a group whose members have taken their interest further. For them it is not just a dream.

This club might be the place for you to start, whether or not you have writing experience. It is a place for beginners and for those who want to refresh tired writing skills.

The fortnightly meetings, held at the Rest Centre in Kingsbridge, provide opportunities to put pen to paper and hear critiques in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

The group is not large in number, which is helpful for growth in this exciting task.

Whatever the chosen genre, whatever their motivation to write, this group will help ­people do just that – write.
