We’re often told how important it is to have a good breakfast and for a group of South Hams school children preparing to sit important tests, staff are rustling up bacon butties every day for a week to get the children off to a relaxed and happy start.
For the third year in a row, Year 6 children at Stowford School are being offered bacon butties (or a veggie alternative) every morning during SATs week. Stowford School have offered the breakfast club for the last three years as a way to help the children relax before the national tests. It also gives them the best start to the day, during what can be a stressful week. All the children enjoyed the social aspect of the breakfast club and several pupils said how relaxed and calm it made them feel before the start of the tests.
Thanks go out to all the staff involved especially Year 6 teacher Rowena Chislett and teaching assistant Karen Freeland who cooked and prepared the bacon sandwiches.
