As a northerner, I look forward to my annual Devon holiday, with all the delights on offer for a great family holiday in Kingsbridge.

My only disappointment this year was not to travel on the famous Kingsbridge ferry.

I understand from local residents that the boat operator is in a dispute with the local authority about conditions of use. This situation is very sad, as Kingsbridge did not seem the same without the sight of the ferry in the estuary, which also has the effect of taking traffic off the busy South Hams roads.

Moreover, Kingsbridge has lost a unique attraction, forcing me to travel to Dartmouth to enjoy the same water experience.

May I urge the local council and boat operator to reach a resolution to allow the return of the ferry? This is a facility that Kingsbridge deserves.
