A camera club has won the ‘Devon battle’ between eleven clubs across the county.

Kingsbridge and District Camera Club came home from this year’s ‘Devon Battle’ having won In the Digital Sets category, beating Torbay Photographic Society by the squeakiest of margins, gaining 93 points from a possible 100.

The annual battle is a competition between camera clubs based in Devon; this year eleven clubs took part. Tony Byram EFIAP ARPS AVPF DPAGB acted as competition judge. In the individual digital section, Kingsbridge member Peter Paisley gained the maximum score of 20 out of 20 with his image ‘Rush Hour in the Camargue’ and was placed third overall.

Brett Hornby’s image ‘Seeds of the Imagination’ was highly commended with 19 points. Nick Shepherd also gained 19, with David Shawe and Jim Brown being awarded 17 points each.

Kingsbridge Camera Club did not enter the print section this year; here Ivybridge and District Camera Club topped the bill with their Print Panel ‘Nature in Motion,’ with Alan Davey, also from the Ivybridge club, taking first prize in the individual section.
