It is impossible to debate Brexit though the columns of newspapers. There are valid arguments on both sides.

The referendum question was a simple one with a single yes or no answer.

Yes won for the simple ­reason that the ­people of the UK want to regain their sovereignty, ­govern their own laws, control immigration and not to be shackled to a federal Europe run by unelected bureaucrats.

In leaving the EU there are indeed risks, but then, there are risks in crossing the road – what one has to look out for is not to get run over.
