The Kingsbridge in Bloom team had a lots to celebrate this past week as they came out on top as double award winners.

It’s was a golden week for the team recently having just been awarded a RHS

Champions of Champions gold medal and class winner at the South West in Bloom awards function held in Weston Super Mare with the team officially announcing their win last Thursday (October 7).

The Kingsbridge in Bloom group were also presented with The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service MBE by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Devon, Lady Arran, for their exceptional support to their community.

The presentation took place in the Cookworthy Museum garden and was followed by tea and cream scones - and yes they were of course served the Devon way!

Graham Price Chairman of Kingsbridge in Bloom said: "The group have been out working safely throughout in the last few months due to COVID restrictions but have managed to create exceptional displays again for the community and our many visitors to enjoy.

"We firmly believe that the power of horticulture should not be under estimated for our mental and physical wellbeing and looking after our public open spaces is essential."
