Making this week’s front page is a story about a local ex-Marine who has just completed the amazing feat of rowing across the Pacific Ocean completely unaided... and blind.

He made it into the record books to become the first ever blind person to row the Pacific.

In other fantastic news, we also report on a family delighted after a Gazette appeal led to their teen being reunited with his beloved bike after it was stolen nearly two months ago.

In contrast, we also report on the dramatic stand-off between a man carrying a knife and emergency services on Tuesday morning.

As ever, there is much, much more inside.
