RICHARD BAYLAY, of Cabourg Close, Salcombe, writes:

I haven’t been to Totnes for more than a year until recently, and I will not be going there again in the near future if I can help it.

On returning to Salcombe, my car was completely stressed out and in shock after having to negotiate numerous potholes, ridges and the like. Delivery vans and taxis must be ageing at alarming rates.

If nothing is done about the state of British roads, soon the bill will be in the trillions. We then won’t be able to afford it and the roads will only be used by the most robust vehicles.

You would have thought in this day of advanced technology that the powers that be would have invented a material that could be pothole-free.
