An annual Easter Egg rolling competition ended up as three events rolled into one thanks to the recent wintery weather.
Like many schools, Cornwood Primary had to postpone its World Book Day celebrations due to heavy snowfall. So, it decided to combine its annual egg rolling with World Book Day and Sport Relief to the delight of the children.
The youngsters were invited to dress up as their favourite sports personality or book character before taking their position on the hill outside the school, armed with their decorated eggs.
A spokesman for the school said: “It was a super event with a lovely atmosphere, lots of decorated eggs with a smattering of healthy competition. After all the heats and then the final the winners were Isabelle in Year 2 and George in Year 4.Thanks to the PTA for organising the event and giving prizes of chocolate eggs for all the winners!”
