FORMER BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond was guest speaker at the Hannahs Ivybridge Supporter Group’s recent Autumn Lunch.

The fundraising event was held at Boringdon Golf Club, and raised more than £2,000 for a new bus which will enable the young people at Hannahs Ivybridge to go on trips around Devon.

The 150 guests were treated to a delicious lunch followed by a very entertaining talk by Jennie Bond about her life as a royal correspondent.

Hannahs’ community engagement executive Emily van Vliet said: ’The Ivybridge Supporter Group once again organised a very classy and entertaining Autumn Lunch fundraiser for Hannahs. The ladies have worked tirelessly to organise this incredible fundraising event, among many during the year to support Hannahs.

’They have played a huge part in raising more than £27,000 so far towards a new bus for the children at Hannahs Ivybridge who have quite profound disabilities, so that they are able to get out and about and enjoy trips and days out in Devon.

’On behalf of everyone at Hannahs, a huge thank you to the group and to Jennie Bond, who very kindly gave up her time free to entertain guests at the event.’
