A significant presence at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show was The Wolf Rock Boat Company based in Churchstow.

They specialise in RIBS and stock vessels from Brig, Iron, Gala and Galaxy.

The company is owned and run by Paul and Sarah McCarthy who have a son, Wilf and daughter, Tilly.

Head of Social Media Adam Jones explained more: “The brand Brig, that is what we're predominantly known for, has been with The Wolf Rock for about 15 years.

“The company's been going a little bit longer than that, but when they first started, it was mainly bringing in second-hand ribs, doing them up and selling them on.”

The Wolf Rock Boat Company import Brig ribs from Ukraine and have a network of dealers around the UK.

Adam explained what happens next: “We rig them at Churchstow so the engines go on.

“We put all of the electronics onto the boat.

“We've got a full team of people doing that and then we've got three indoor showrooms in Devon as well a full sales team and you don't have to go out on the water for very long in Salcombe before you start seeing Brigs everywhere.

The company stock RIBs from a number of firms but are especially proud that they can support a company that has to operate in a war-torn country:

“It’s terrible what's going on over there and it's unbelievable to me that they're still able to build boats in that kind of scenario and under that sort of pressure so they've done an amazing job at the factory at keeping this brand alive and we're now at the stage where we are actually the largest Brig distributor in the world.

The company has also concentrated on building their social media presence.
