South Brent Judo Club members have been travelling far and wide, developing their judo and enjoying great success.

Seven players fought at the very competitive London Open recently. In the A bands, Pierre Michelin (under-55kg) fought with panache to win all his fights and earn a well-deserved gold. In the pre-cadets section, Josh Shipp (u34kg) and Ewan Baker (u55kg) both won silver after narrowly losing in their finals. Tom Smith and Davy Grey both fought in the notoriously difficult u46kg category and represented the club well.

Then on to the cadets: Adam Whitfield and Lewis Widdicombe fought in the u73kg group and came fifth and ninth respectively. Adam earned 25 valuable England ranking points.

The following weekend Tom Smith (u46kg) and Lewis Widdicombe (u73kg) competed at Venray International in the Netherlands. They both fought superbly in large groups of international players, and Tom came a remarkable seventh out of 71.
