The start to the season saw Dinnaton Swimming Club’s head coach leave for pastures new, with new development coach Pete Armitage and assistant Georgia Harris both stepping up admirably.
October saw a team of 36 swimmers compete in the Plymouth Cities Championships, walking away with a club record of 117 medals, including 30 gold.
The pick of the bunch were Reid Jones (13), attaining five golds, with Jasmine D’Cunha (9) and Hollie Steer (13) both picking up four golds apiece.
The Dinnaton relay teams came in third in both the boys and girls relay events, with Charlotte Craigie, Quinn and Reid Jones, Hollie Steer and Will Green all making it to championship finals as well.
To cap a stunning performance Reid Jones and Hollie Steer will receive the Neptune age group (11-13) achievement from the mayor on November 16, as part of the city of Plymouth Lord Mayor’s awards. Hollie will also receive the Titan Best Girl Salver.
The end of November sees new head coach Matt Henry take the reins and leading the team out in Bristol for his first competition.
Here, swimmers will be looking to finalise their Devon qualifying times and the club hopes to continue its early-season successes.
