THREE fire engines rushed to deal with a fire that had been deliberately started in South Brent.
Appliances from Buckfastleigh, Ivybridge and Modbury were mobilised following a call from a neighbour last Thursday night, reporting a fire in the porch of a property in Avondale Walk.
Shortly after arriving on the scene the three crews confirmed the fire, of paper, was out, but carried out an inspection with a thermal imaging camera as a precaution.
The fire at the socially rented property had been deliberately started, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said, although the home was believed to be unoccupied at the time. Only minor damage was caused.
