THE Donkey Sanctuary has a double bill of seasonal entertainment lined up for the coming weeks, with a Christmas Fair and ‘Carols by Candlelight’ sure to give that festive feeling.

The fair takes place on Saturday, December 12 from 10am to 3pm at the centre in Filham Park, Ivybridge.

Father Christmas will be in attendance to chat with children and give out presents, and there will be plenty of games and face painting for youngsters.

Stalls will be selling handmade wreaths and lots of other Christmas items in aid of the charity, and donkeys Pooh and Eeyore will be on hand.

Refreshments including mulled wine, turkey and stuffing rolls and mince pies will be on offer at the free event.

The following Wednesday, December 16 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm the reverend Chris Osborne will lead an evening of Carols by Candlelight.

The night will also feature a children’s nativity and also a children’s choir provided by Stowford School. Audience participation will be encouraged, with some makaton-based songs as well as a selection of traditional carols. New for this year, there will also be a donkey procession through the arena.
