ALL is safely gathered in at St Mary’s C of E Primary in Brixton, thanks to the efforts of the school’s Eco Club members.

Children given the seasonal task of harvesting crops that were grown in plots

around the playground came across some surprise finds of carrots and onions as

well as the potatoes, herbs, beans and tomatoes that were clearly marked.

Teacher Jackie Hext, who leads the gardening project said: ‘It sure was a bumper crop. The plots are now all ready to have new seeds planted to enable us to have even more wonderful vegetables and flowers to enjoy when the spring comes.

‘And I think that this year we’ll try to make sure we know exactly where everything is!’
