A LOCAL primary school had a visit from Rotary Club of Ivybridge president Anne Brooks recently, who brought a useful donation of dictionaries.

Anne visited Stowford School to present all the children in Year 5 with an Usborne Illustrated English Dictionary for Life, through Rotary’s Dictionary 4 Life scheme.

The children will use the books to help with their learning throughout their time at Stowford and beyond. Beautiful illustrations mean children are keen to use the dictionaries, and eager to leaf through them at every opportunity.

Year 5 teacher Mr Nute said: ’It is an incredibly generous gesture made by The Rotary Club each year, and we are sincerely grateful to all those involved. The children were excited to receive their own dictionary to use in lessons.’
