A FANTASTIC day was had by all as Ivybridgecame together for this year's Lions Club of Ivybridge Fun Day.

Visitors enjoyed live music, ­funfair rides, traditional swing boats and a beer festival at Ivybridge Rugby Club on Saturday, July 4.

There was live entertainment all day, starting with singer Savannah Sheperd at 12.30pm through to headliners Scraping the Barrel at 9pm.

The club also presented a cheque to Devon Freewheelers for £3,500. The money was raised through fundraising over the past 12 months.

Devon Freewheelers provides an out-of-hours courier service free of charge to the NHS, delivering blood, breast milk and other vital medical supplies to hospitals across the ­county.

Around £3,500 was also raised on the day, which will go to Derriford Hospital, Ermington Pre-School and South Dartmoor Air Cadets.

Adam Winzer, president of the Lions Club of Ivybridge, said: 'It was a fantastic day. Ivybridge really ­supported us again and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

'The Lions Club was also proud to present a cheque to the Devon Freewheelers for £3,500 – this is the money we've been raising for the past 12 months.'
