UPDATE: A man who has been missing from Salcombe for eight days has been located safe and well. Kingsbridge Police confirmed just after noon today that Robert 'Rab' Johnston has been found and thanks the public for all of their help and assistance as well as all of the partner agencies who assisted in the search.

Robert Johnston, locally known as Rab, was last seen in Salcombe on Thursday, May 24.

Robert is described as a 40-year-old white male with a slim build and short cut, slightly greying, mousy hair, and is usually wearing baggy jeans and a hoodie.

An extensive search operation was ongoing for over a week, with searches from five RNLI lifeboats, the HM Coastguard, the police helicopter and additional missions on foot along the coastline. The coastguard dispatched teams from Hope Cove, Salcombe and Bigbury to search the sea.
