FREE and impartial help with all aspects of energy use is on offer across the South Hams thanks to a local ’community benefit society’ and its Energy Advice Team.

To tie in with National Energy Saving Week at the start of November, South Dartmoor Community Energy’s advisors will be poppping up in locations across the district to share their expertise.

The team can help people: check they are on the best energy deal; switch supplier; learn about the smart meter roll out; apply for discounts and support from energy companies; check eligibility for energy saving schemes.

South Dartmoor Community Energy says residents who have not switched supplier in the last five years could save as much as £200-300 per year by shopping around. Those who are unable to make the drop-in sessions can call an adviser free on 0800 1123044.

The energy advice drop-in sessions are taking place at Kingsbridge Library, Totnes Library, Townstal Community Hall, South Brent Old School Community Centre, Ermington Sustainable Saturdays, Ivybridge Library, Woolwell Centre, Livewires Coffee Morning in Brixton, Brixton Stores, and Tesco Lee Mill, on various dates between Tuesday, November 1 and Monday, November 21. For dates and times see www.southdartmoorcommunityenergy.org .

The Energy Advice Team can also provide short talks on energy issues to community groups and clubs, and even offer energy efficiency bingo! Please get in touch for further info, by phone or email [email protected] .
