IVYBRIDGE’S Christmas Festival kicks off this weekend, with lots to see and do around the town in the next few weeks.
The main event including the switching on of the Fore Street lights is happening this Friday, November 25 from 5pm onwards, when late night shopping, stalls and food and drinks are on offer in Glanvilles Mill and the main street.
The lights will be switched on at 7pm by the New Jersey Boys, followed by Father Christmas’ parade in Fore Street and an exciting laser show and snow storms in Hartley Court. Much more entertainment is on offer throughout what promises to be a great night.
Earlier on Friday, free children’s craft activities take place in Glanvilles Mill from 10am, with children’s community tree dressing from 10.30am.
Friday is just the start of the festive excitement in Ivybridge. Saturday morning sees both a farmers market in Glanvilles Mill and an advent market at the methodist church, with plenty on at The Watermark and Father Christmas receiving youngsters in his grotto at the Co-op.
And events continue each weekend up to Christmas, mainly at The Watermark and the town’s churches. For a full programme, visit www.ivybridge.gov.uk .
