Ivybridge Community College celebrated another year of very strong Post-16 results, with students achieving an impressive range of academic and vocational qualifications and securing exciting destinations for their next steps.

Among those celebrating were  Sophie Gilvear (pictured, centre), who achieved four A* grades and is progressing to the University of Cambridge to study Veterinary Science and Jed Hooper (pictured, left), who achieved three A* grades and an A and will also progress to the University of Cambridge to study Medicine.

The College is also celebrating the achievements of Marcus Chapman (right), Agnes Harding, Charlotte Cann, Imogen Blackwell and Holly Haymes, who all achieved multiple A*–A grades.

Some 46% of students achieved at least one A* or A grade, while 62% achieved grades including AAB.

Students are now progressing to an exciting range of destinations, including university courses in Robotics, Mechatronics and Control Engineering, Law, Sports Therapy and Costume for Theatre and Screen, alongside highly competitive apprenticeships.

There were also outstanding performances across individual subjects, with 50% of Chemistry students achieving an A or A*, 67% of Photography students achieving an A or A*, and an 83% of Health and Social Care students achieving a Distinction or above.

Principal Rachel Hutchinson said: “We are immensely proud of our students and the results they have achieved.

“Results day is about much more than a set of grades. It is about celebrating the individual journeys, talents and ambitions of every student and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. We are particularly delighted to see students progressing to highly competitive university courses, prestigious apprenticeships and a wide range of other destinations. We celebrate every student who has reached this point and wish them every success as they take their next steps.”
