IVYBRIDGE’S first Top Shopper has been chosen and given her cash prize of £200 as a reward for spending her money locally.

The town’s chamber of commerce said it was pleased to announce the winner of the Ivybridge Top Shopper Free Cash Draw as Carly Perring.

The draw took place at the recent Ivybridge Summer Fete, and Carly was surprised and delighted when she received the call from chamber chairman Pat White to tell her that she had won the prize.

Carly said: ’I love to shop in Ivybridge and support the local shops, and providing this free cash prize draw was a lovely gesture by the shopkeepers. I will definitely be spending this money locally’.

Pat said the first Ivybridge Top Shopper had been a great success, and announced the scheme would continue with the next draw in October. Every time shoppers spend in the town’s shops bearing the Top Shopper poster, they get the chance to enter.

Pat said: ’Ivybridge is a town full of fabulous shops and businesses who provide expertise, customer service and importantly provide local employment to the community. So come and shop in Ivybridge.
