SEAMOOR Children’s Centre has teamed up with Dangerous Dads to offer an exciting new range of dad-led activities.

A revamp of the Ivybridge centre’s dad’s group for the new year will see SeaMoor staff working with Ian Blackwell from the Totnes organisation.

Ian’s mission is simple – to help build stronger communities where fathers and male carers have the chance to become the best dads in the world for their children.

The dad’s group will kick off 2016 by taking part in the Go Wild with SeaMoor family event at The Den, South Brent Primary School on Saturday, January 30 from 10am to noon.

The event is open to any parents, carers and families and their under fives from the Ivybridge and South Brent area and should be great fun, as Dartmoor Zoo are to bring some of their smaller animals along to meet youngsters.

Ian will be there to meet dads and male carers, talk about the new direction the dads group is taking, and answer any questions. SeaMoor staff will also be on hand to offer advice on anything that affects families, from the ‘terrible twos’ to weaning and childcare options.

There is no need to book, just turn up on the day.

The dad’s group welcomes and offers support to all male carers - dads, mother’s partners and grandads - and their under fives. It meets monthly and offers activities from forest school sessions to bird box making and wild walks.

The first event that Ian has planned for the new-look group is bird box making on February 27, also at The Den.
