A POPULAR fashion show organised by the friends of a local primary school next week is hoping to raise a bumper total towards a new play park for Ivybridge.
Taking place on Friday, October 14 at 7pm the Friends of the Erme Primary School’s fashion show and sale promises to be a great ladies’ night out, judging by previous years.
The evening features a catwalk show and sale of new, heavily discounted high street clothing, a raffle with great prizes, and drinks and nibbles.
Tickets are available from the school, or Kay Winstone on 07980 116104, but booking is advised as seats are limited. All money raised will go directly to providing a new play area in Victoria Park.
Active fundraisers, the friends’ latest project aims to revolutionise the facilities in the town council-owned park. The current tarmacked area behind the school is in poor condition, and the friends have received a quote for £26,000 for a new, colourful surface, football goals and basketball hoops and fencing.
The play area would continue to be available to the public when not in use by the school, so the friends are hoping the people of Ivybridge will get behind this latest fundraising drive.
