AN Ivybridge family has took it upon itself to remind dog owners to clean up after their pets.
Katie Reville and her children were so fed up having to watch every step they take to avoid treading in dog poo that they bought some eye-catching stickers to place around the town to try to keep the streets of Ivybridge clean.
Katie said she is hoping the appearance of the bright stickers around the town will help to remind dog owners to do the responsible thing.
The Reville family hopes the stickers will remind people that this is an unsightly health hazard that effects everyone.
Katie said: 'I know that the majority of dog owners are very responsible and clean up after their pets, but this is a persistent issue around our town and it can make walking to school, the park or the shops a very unpleasant experience.
'If people see someone fail to clean up after their pet, or know of an area where there's a regular problem, then they should contact the dog warden with as much information as possible, such as location, timing and type of dog, by calling 01803 861117.
'We hope our stickers might make a small difference for the benefit of everyone.'
The family has bought 50 of the eye-catching stickers; if anyone would like one or two for their street they can get in touch with Katie on 01752 698783.
