OUT THIS WEEK… All our South Hams Newspapers titles feature a wrap-around and poster for you to display in your window to help save lives during the coronavirus pandemic.

The message on the front page is clear: ‘All in, all together. Stay at home, for the NHS, your family, your neighbours, your nation, the world and life itself.’

The picture accompanying this article is featured on the back page of this week’s paper and can be used as a poster to help drive the message home.

As the death toll rose across Britain to above 18,000 this week during the COVID-19 pandemic, our parent company, Tindle Newspapers, agreed to run four-page wraps around all its papers, including the Kingsbridge and Salcombe Gazette, Ivybridge and South Brent Gazette, Dartmouth Chronicle and Totnes Times.

Editor Tim Leigh said: ‘Normally most editors I know would protest about a wrap going around the front and back of their paper, but in this case I think my colleagues up and down the country would agree that the circumstances we all find ourselves in more than merit this.

‘These extraordinary times need extraordinary solutions. If we can help persuade people to stay home and in doing so save one person from the horror of the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be so worthwhile.

‘Please stay home, and stay safe.’

Following Government instructions, South Hams Newspapers has had to close our offices and our staff are now working from home. We are still producing papers every week. If you have any stories, news or pictures, let us know by email – [email protected].

We are all in this together.
