A magical family event organised by South Hams Children's Centre drew the summer holiday crowds this month.

Held at the Watermark on Tuesday, August 8, the event attracted 54 local families for a fun and enjoyable morning.Magician Emazdad provided the entertainment, which included a magic show and balloon modelling, and children's centre staff also ran a variety of play activities. South Hams Children's Centre, which is based in Totnes provides regular sessions and activities in various locations across Ivybridge for families with children under five. Events and sessions for August can be found on the centre's website, and include a variety of weekly play sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The autumn timetable has also now been published, including parental support sessions and Weigh and Play for local families. 2016 saw the closure of Ivybridge and Kingsbridge children’s centres after a budget cut for children’s services by Devon County Council. Services in the Ivybridge area are now run from Totnes.
