Pat Maylin, of Speakers Road, Ivybridge, writes:

If your children went camping on the moor above Ivybridge, did they bother to bring back their tent? Do you know what they were doing?

Once again the moor has been left littered with drinks cans and bottles, discarded food packaging and used toilet paper.

The irresponsible teenagers responsible were camped in the disused quarry on the Two Moors Way, just inside the Stowford Moor gate.

Two boys and two girls in their early teens arrived there on Friday evening laden with carrier bags full of drinks that they were too young to have bought themselves.

They left at around 10am on Saturday morning, abandoning their cheap tent and other assorted equipment, with their litter just left where it was dropped.

Is it about time that Dartmoor was made an alcohol-free zone in the same manner as some towns?

The minority are spoiling the area above Ivybridge for the rest of us – one wonders what they live like at home.
