The Beacon Cup, played over two rounds with the net scores added together, took place recently and saw Brian Walker score a net 67 and a 63 to win by eight shots from Ross Ellard.
Dean Dickerson finished third with net 142. As a result of his fine performance, Brian had his handicap reduced to 17.1.
Wrangaton ladies enjoyed a good 6-1 home win at home against Exeter in the Sheela Creasy Trophy on Friday, June 12.
Unfortunately, Sidmouth proved too difficult a test on Monday, June 15th as the ladies lost 51/2 to 11/2.
The Wednesday roll-up on June 17 saw Christian Lawrence pip Matt Owen to victory on countback, both scoring 38 points, with Oli Brown one point behind in third.
The veterans' roll-up on Thursday, June 18, saw Roger Fowler come out on top with 38 points, narrowly beating Jeff Bailey with 37.
The ladies played a nine-hole non qualifier last Wednesday, with two hidden holes where the points were doubled.
Angie Newman took the win with 26 points, two ahead of second-placed Jane Cooke.
There was a brilliant win for the Plymouth Area League team last Friday, who beat Tavistock at home 4-1.
