A team of equestrians from Ivybridge Community College is celebrating after winning a spot in a national competition.

The team of Courtney Fletcher, Ellie Smart, Caitlin Johns and Grace Dahle who have qualified for the National Schools Finals in October.

The team finished in second place in a competitive class of school teams from all over the South West.

Caitlin Johns and her pony Tim finished in second place individually, an exceptional achievement in a class of over 70 riders. They also qualify as an individual for the championships.

The qualifying competition was held at Bicton Arena and Ivybridge Community College had three teams in the different height classes. The teams all did well, with two riders from Year 7 competing for the first time in a schools competition. The school also wishes to congratulate the other riders Amy Stephens, Katie Reid, Hannah Preston, Katie Preston, Jose Grey and Rebecca Reid.
