Chaddlewood Miners U15s 3,

Railway Beacon U15s 0

Thursday evening saw Chaddlewood Miners U15s host Railway Beacon, keeping clean sheet.

Manager Matt said: ‘The defence was sound again, which is pleasing to see.’

Three of the team got off the mark on the score sheet, Taylor with a sweet strike after some good link-up play with James and Ryan; Joe E after a good cross into the box by James; and Brad nodding in from a great cross from Tom to give a final score of 3-0.

Chaddlewood Miners U15s 5,

Elburton Villa U15s 0

On Saturday the Miners played host to Elburton Villa. Again it was a very good game with a great display of teamwork and some excellent link-up play.

Harry opened the scoring inside 10 minutes with a brilliant header into the top corner, repeating the move later in the match.

Chaddlewood were then awarded a penalty when Taylor was brought down by the goalkeeper, but fortunately for Elburton the penalty was missed.

Chaddlewood then piled the pressure on the Elburton goal and it wasn’t long before Joe T stormed through the Elburton defence, despatching the ball into the back of the net. Shortly before half-time Jack added a fourth.

It was much of the same in the second half and, try as they might, Elburton just couldn’t break down the Chaddlewood defence. Seven minutes before the end of the match James raced onto a through-ball, beating the ’keeper and bringing Chaddlewood’s goal tally for the match to five and, just as important, keeping another clean sheet.
