The Wrangaton ladies’ section held a stableford competition on Wednesday, September 9. The competition was won by lady captain Marion Seward with

36 points; Di Clasby ­finished second with 34 points.

Club captain John Morris held the annual captain’s invitation day at the club on Friday, September 11. Eighteen teams of four took part in the day, which helped raise money for Asthma UK. The winners on the day were Wes Cullen, Martin Wallace, Scott Bamford and Mark Chapman, who scored an ­impressive 97 points.

The Dartmoor League team continued their excellent form by beating Thurlestone Golf Club 5-0. The team, captained by Ian Black, have been in excellent form of late and now currently sit at the top of the league with just one game remaining.

On Friday, Sept-ember 11, the golf club’s assistant professional Andy Searle took a team of members to the West Region PGA Pro-Am at Oake Manor Golf Club. The team managed to finish sixth on 11-under. Andy finished with a round of 73 (plus three), but after being five over after seven holes, he showed great character by making three birdies in four holes and finished in a very respectable 27th place in a field full of top professionals.

The B team played a home match on Sunday, September 13, against Teign Valley, and came out on top, winning all four matches.
