Ivybridge Town 5,
Camelford 1
Town face a trip across the Tamar tomorrow to take on Falmouth Town, and will be hoping to continue the same form that saw them brush aside fellow Cornishmen Camelford 5-1 last weekend writes Tim Leigh.
Ivybridge general manager Brian Howard has tasked his side with finishing as high as possible in the league, and three more points this weekend against a side who sit 15th in the table would take them another step further along that road.
Speaking ahead of the game against Falmouth, Howard said: 'We've only got one player out, Josh Zimmerman, who's missing his first game all season.
He's come on leaps and bounds so he'll be missed, but we've got Phil Bromhead and Todd Hanrahan returning so we've got pretty much a full squad to pick from.
'We've got three games left, against Falmouth, Saltash and Falmouth again, and we're looking to finish as high as we can.
'Falmouth are the only team left who can do the double over us, so we'll be going all out.'
If they play as they did against Camelford, Town should coast to victory and Howard was effusive in his praise of the team for their performance last Saturday.
A hat-trick by striker Mike Smith and goals by Callum Martindale and Lee Doel gave them an emphatic victory in a one-sided contest.
Howard said: 'We totally dominated the game, we could have scored more. They had a penalty at the end, saved by Josh Oak, and if they'd got two goals it would have been a travesty.'
Despite controlling the match pretty much from the outset, it took the Bridgers half an hour to get on the scoresheet, Smith heading home from Mark Berry's corner.
The score stayed this way until half-time, with Ivybridge wondering how they were not further ahead after dominating possession and territory.
The second half saw a more ruthless Town, with just two minutes elapsing before Smith doubled his side's tally with a smart volley.
They put the game to bed midway through the second half when that man Smith completed his hat-trick.
The home side stirred into life and briefly threatened a comeback when they pulled a goal back on 70 minutes against the run of play.
However, their hopes were quickly crushed when winger Luke Brown was felled inside the area and Martindale made no mistake with the resulting penalty.
Lee Doel put the icing on the cake with a neat finish late on to give Town some momentum as they push for the highest possible finish.
