Ivybridge Town Council heard at their meeting a little about how anti social behaviour and crime is affecting residents in the town.
There are many different views on the scale and causes of these issues, but it was clear that reporting the incidents and taking action to divert young people from unwanted behaviour was important.
Reporting things of concern that you witness to the police it will ensure a true picture of what is happening in the town.
For non emergency situations you can visit: https://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/.../101-non-emergency/
In an emergency (when someone’s life is at risk, someone is seriously injured, offenders are nearby and/or immediate action is required) you should call 999.
The Council is taking action by working with organisations and the authorities that have the powers and duties to tackle this directly.
They are also seeking to work with partners to fund activities and youth workers to help and support young people, tackle bad behaviour and support their mental wellbeing. This will take some time to setup but it is hoped to see some of this delivered in the coming months.
