A DIDWORTHY man has been banned from driving after being caught over the limit and without insurance.

Mark Bancroft, 37 admitted the two offences at Torquay Magistrates’ Court on December 14.

The court heard Bancroft had been driving a Suzuki Vitara at Lydia Bridge near Aish on November 29. He had 64 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit is 35mcg - and no insurance.

Bancroft was fined £200, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £85. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months, to be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes an approved course.
