A CAR was completely destroyed and a second vehicle damaged by heat, following a fire in Ivybridge last week.

Ivybridge Fire Station were called to report of a vehicle fire on Dunsterville Road at 1.20am on Sunday, January 29.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘On arrival the crew confirmed that the car was well alight. The car was totally destroyed by fire and a second vehicle was damaged by heat.

‘To deal with the incident the fire crew used two breathing apparatuses, one hose reel jet, a thermal image camera and small tools.’

Ivybridge Police also attended at 1.45am to investigate.

Police arrested a 33-year-old-woman on suspicion of arson, although no further action was taken due to a lack of evidence.
