A LARGE group of youngsters and childminders enjoyed a visit to their local fire station recently.
24 children aged from nought to four and their responsible adults spent the morning at Ivybridge fire station, where they were shown around by firefighters Kris and Jack.
The group had a look around the station, visiting the kit room and enjoying a chance to get up close to the engine. They were told about all the different equipment carried and shown how some of it worked, before sitting in the front and having a go with the fire hose.
Some of the childminders involved have been working on ’people who help us’ with their young charges, so the visit helped the children understand more about the emergency services.
Adults and children alike offered a big thank you to Kris and Jack for giving up their morning for the visit.
