A WEEK of activities culminated in a 'breathtaking' day in Ugborough Square at this year's fair week.
The events kicked off last Monday with the fair week's first family dog show and Wed-nesday saw the bingo brought back before a full village treasure hunt on Friday, in time for the fair day.
The square filled up with people, all enjoying the stalls, bars, cream teas and a 'proper barbecue by the men of the village'.
The forecast bode well as live music was provided by The Longfaces and Platypus Down, who performed on the lorry provided by Kay Transport.
Organiser Shelley Hutcheon said: The day went really well, as did fair week.
'This year's team event was "bar boards". Three people had to stand on two boards and then march from bar to bar lifting the boards with ropes, which sounds complicated, but it just needed coordination.
'To raise money for the church bells, the bell-ringers conducted tours up the tower, which was very popular. The views on such an amazing day were breathtaking.'
The money raised throughout the week is thought to be in the region of £5,100, which will be split between charities within the village – namely, St Peter's Church, the village hall, the parish newsletter, Erme Valley Riding for the Disabled, Ugborough Primary School and Ugborough and Bittaford Pre-School.
